President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, took the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on a familiarisation tour of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Thus is coming less than 24 hours after outgoing Vice President Yemi Osinbajo took the incoming Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima on a familiarisation tour of the Vice President’s wing of the Presidential Villa on Thursday.

DIPLOMATIC DIARY recalls that President Buhari on Thursday conferred National Honour of Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR) on Tinubu and Shettima with the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).

Buhari and Tinubu arrived at the Press Gallery at around 1:18 pm shortly after observing the Jummah Prayers at the Aso Villa Mosque.

“This is the Gallery where you will be meeting members of the press”, Buhari told Tinubu as both men emerged from the waiting room of the Aso Chambers.

The President was accompanied in the tour by his Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahimi Gambari and the Permanent Secretary, Umar Tijjani.
