Imo PDP, APGA Reps’ Members Defect To APC, Back Uzodimma Guber Reelection Bid

Three serving members of the House of Representatives from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Imo State, defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The lawmakers include Bede Eke representing the Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency (PDP), Emeka Nwawuba representing the Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency (APGA), and Ikenna Elezieanya representing the Owerri Municipal/Owerri North/Owerri West Federal Constituencies (PDP).

They announced their defection on Tuesday in Owerri,  the Imo State capital.

At the official declaration, held at Ndubuisi Kanu Square in Owerri, the defectors, promised to back the governor’s administration as he seeks a second term in office.

They said their decision followed Governor Hope Uzodimma’s leadership qualities and achievements over the last three and a half years in the State

In his welcome address, the APC state chairman, Macdonald Ebere, said their decision to join the ruling party was “the best”.
