The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Suleiman Sidi, one of the terror suspects who escaped from the Kuje correctional facility.
DIPLOMATIC DIARY reported that suspected terrorists had on Tuesday attacked the Kuje medium custodial centre and freed over 800 inmates including members of the boko haram and Islamic State West African Province, (ISWAP).
The Federal Government had on Friday, declared 69 of the inmates who had terror-related charges wanted with their names and other details published.
A statement by Femi Babafemi, Spokesperson of the NDLEA, said the fleeing terrorist, Sidi was arrested in the early hours of Monday in Abuja,
Sidi was nabbed at the Area 1 motor park while attempting to board a commercial vehicle to Maiduguri, Borno State.
“Upon search by NDLEA operatives, he was caught with wraps of cannabis sativa.
“During preliminary interview, the terror suspect confirmed he was remanded at the Medium Security Correctional Centre in Kuje.
“Sidi is facing charges bordering on terrorism and robbery.
“NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (Retd) has directed his transfer to the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS)”, the statement added.
