Osun Decides: Accord Party Candidate Ogunbiyi Votes, Lauds INEC

The Candidate of the Accord Party (AP), Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the early commencement of Saturday’s Osun governorship election.

Ogunbiyi, who spoke with newsmen after he cast his vote at ward 5, unit 3, Methodist Primary School, Ile-Ogbo, Ayedire Local Government Area also commended the large turnout of voters for the election.

“The process has been peaceful and progress is being made. However, I want the process stepped up to accommodate all eligible voters within the time.

“The turnout has been massive and impressive, the report across the state shows that it has been peaceful”, he said.

Ogunbiyi, whi is also the Chairman of Mutual Benefit Assurance, commended security agencies for their professional conduct.

Meanwhile, Osun deputy governor, Benedict Alabi has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win the ongoing governorship election convincingly given what the party has achieved in the state in last three and half years.

Alabi spoke shortly after he cast his vote at ward 6 unit 7, Baptist Day School, Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area of the state.

He said has he has no fear that APC will win the election in the state.

The deputy governor, who adjudged the process as peaceful and orderly, with impressive turnout, also commended the INEC for the timely arrival of election materials.

He commended the security agencies for ensuring orderliness and peaceful atmosphere of the conduct of the election.

” This is a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is calm and rancour free. People are orderly and also have confidence to come out in their large number to vote.

” I have no doubt that we are going to win convincingly considering what we have achieved in the state in last three and half years. I believe the electorate will do the needful by voting for us”, he said.
