Gunmen, Thursday, killed the traditional ruler of Orsu Obodo in Oguta local government area of Imo state, HRH Eze Victor Ijioma.

Also killed was the traditional prime minister of Mgbele community, the Isama of Mgbele, also in the same local government area.

DIPLOMATIC DIARY gathered that while the Orsu Obodo monarch was accosted at Umuamaka junction near neighbouring community, Izombe where he was killed in his car, the community leader was said to have been killed in his home town.

It was further gathered that when the monarch’s assailants were not satisfied with his death, they went ahead to set his corpse in the car ablaze.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Henry Okoye,  confirmed the incident.

Okoye said the Imo State Police boss, CP Muhamned Amed Barde  has set up a high power investegetive team to fish out the perpetrators.

 CP Barde, who condemned what he described as the gruesome murder of the Traditional ruler and the Traditional Prime Minister of the two communities, commiserated with the bereaved families and prayed God give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
