Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has sent the names of commissioner-nominees to the state House of Assembly for confirmation.
The Governor had on May 24, in a statement issued by his Special Assistant, Kelvin Ebiri, announced the dissolution of the State Executive Council.
But a letter to the State Assembly, read at Plenary on Friday by the Speaker, Ikuinyi-Owaji Ibani, the Governor submitted a list of some nominees for confirmation as members of reconstituted executive Council.
The nominees include two former Commissioners on the immediate past cabinet and one former Special Adviser to Governor Wike.
They are former Commissioners Professor Zaccheaus Adangor (SAN), who was the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, and Isaac Kamalu, who was the Commissioner for Finance.
The other nominee is Dr Alabo George-Kelly, who was Governor Wike’s Adviser on Special Project.
Isaac Kamalu and George-Kelly resigned their appointments before the dissolution of the cabinet to contest the Governorship Primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in which they emerged as the first and second runners up, respectively.
